 Demand for
birthday parties increased enormously after the circuit was the subject of the BBC programme, VIP Party. Fortunately things have
settled down and with the introduction of additional weekend slots the booking 'lead time' has been reduced to around a month.

When Honda Global wanted to know what all these people were
doing using their engines for racing in Europe, they called Grand Prix Karting. Two top bods from the global office flew in, and after
spending a pleasant hour or so with us, they left with a very different opinion of their generator engine! The full story appears in
the latest issue of the Honda Worldwide journal. |
There have been many articles written, many gigabytes utilised, and lots of people talking it up, but is there really
going to be another Birmingham Super Prix? As we go to press everything is still in the balance but the original Act of Parliament,
sponsored by Sir Reginald Eyre in 1985, certainly puts Birmingham in a uniquely advantageous position. Mr. Ecclestone had them crawling
around London but unlike Formula One, the Super Prix is not decided by one person and that might explain the delay!
We're certainly keeping our fingers crossed, for apart from the high octane smells, the noise and the unmistakeable motorsport atmosphere,
we look forward to welcoming friends, old and new, back to the circuit. The fans, the sponsors and the teams couldn't resist a blast on
our circuit before their race around the streets. Guests hanging out at the circuit last time round included the likes of Eddie Irvine,
Damon Hill, David Brabham, Richard Dean, Tim Sugden and Tim Harvey. We loved having them around for the week and many became long term
friends of the circuit. |
