 | Once again, Grand Prix Karting were
chosen to host the United Kingdom Karting Round of the Exchange & Mart F1 Drivers Challenge, this time with our very own
Patrick Jukes co-opted as one of the judges. Hopefuls were put through their paces on the full National Circuit driving our
super fast fleet of top of the range BIZ twin engine Honda Pro-Karts.
What a mixed bag it was this time around, with the driving ranging from the sublime to the ridiculous. The sublime being
young | Rui from Portugal, first time ever on the circuit, and on his third
flying lap, just a tenth of a second off the Grand Prix Karting lap record, once held by Eddie Irvine. Then we witnessed
another driver's attempts to redesign turn two, closely followed by the inevitable "hair dryer" briefing from
the Clerk of the Course.
Sadly, the Clerk's wise words came to nothing as the hapless driver continued to bounce off all and sundry - as one of
the Judges mused, "he drives like an unheld garden hose!" |

 | | Official figures confirm Birmingham as
a Corporate Entertainment 'hot spot' ranking alongside London and Manchester for the diversity of its attractions, restaurants,
entertainment and nightlife.
Visitors now spend a total of over £1bn annually in the city and this is projected to grow significantly over the next 5
years. | | Grand Prix Karting are proud to have contributed to this
success with continued investment in the Birmingham Wheels site, re-affirming its position as one of the premier karting venues
in Europe. Unlike some centres that remain the sole preserve of race teams and professional drivers, the venue maintains a happy
balance providing entertainment to companies, groups and individuals. |

 Joe Pasquale, comedian and
'King of the Jungle,' used high speed in-kart shots of racing at Birmingham Wheels Circuit in his production of Jack and the
Beanstalk at the Hippodrome. Grand Prix Karting staff assisted his production company in creating some amazing footage
showing Joe racing in front of the city backdrop. |
